This invention relates to PET copolymer compositions that have both 1,4-cyclohexanedimethal (CHDM) and isophthalic acid moieties copolymerized. Thesecompositions have better oxygen and carbon dioxide barrier properties thaneither PET homopolymer or CHDM-modified PET copolymers. These copolymercompositions are useful for packaging applications (such as carbonated softdrink bottles) requiring barrier properties to oxygen and carbon dioxide atleast as good or better than PET homopolymer.
