The present invention relates to a combined banding mechanism and suction coagulation for customizing the working surface of the suction coagulation mechanism. The working extension of the coagulum has an improved insulating coating and is used for customized bending with an instrument with a centrally located mandrel pin for insertion into the hollow interior of the coagulum extension at one end. The curved channel is provided in the concave and mandrel pins of the associated to limit the radius of the bent formed by the user. This provides a method of cooperating with the inserted mandrel pin to flex the distal end of the coagulum while maintaining the integrity of the shape therein. The instrument includes a probe for cleaning dirt accumulated from the interior of the operating extension.
