Wavelet based compression of still and moving images

摘要

The compression of still and moving images using wavelets is based upon a transformation process of partial bands using a Huffman or arithmetic coding operation. The partial bands are partitioned on the basis of significance and characteristic features that are put into matrix forms. The matrices are the put into a context dependent code before being subjected to the coding process.
