The endoscopic instrument has a flexible cover (2) and a brush (20) for the removal of tissue for diagnostic purposes attached to its end. In order to avoid a permanent deformation of the control cable (5) after several uses and to facilitate a better guidance the brush (20) is joined to a scissors-like mechanism (10) protruding from the soft cover (2). The brush (20) can be moved back and forth and can be precisely positioned in case of a vascular bifurcation.
