A device for guiding a drive shaft (3), in particular for a windshield wiper arm, in a water-tight manner through a windshield (11) of a vehicle, has the following characteristics: a sliding sleeve (2) is joined to the driving mechanism housing (1), coaxially aligned with and accommodating the drive shaft (3); a guide sleeve (4) is secured to a hole (21) in the windshield (11); the sliding sleeve (2) is guided in the guide sleeve (2). The outside diameter of the sliding sleeve (2) substantially corresponds to the inside diameter of the guide sleeve (4), and the sliding sleeve (2) and the guide sleeve (4) are axially movable in relation to each other. This arrangement has the advantage of ensuring a wiping angle of 180 DEG and of allowing the motor itself to be secured to the car body. This device is easy to mount.
