PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To express quantitatively the degree of approximation of an optional desired wave by synthesizing multi-purpose simultaneous beam patterns that realize a narrow beam width, a null depth, and an increase in a directivity gain or the like through the use an evaluation criterion of satisfaction. ;SOLUTION: In this method for composing antenna patterns of a curved-face antenna array to decide an exciting amplitude and phase of an array antenna consisting of pluralities of element antennas arranged on a curved face, an initial antenna pattern 21 is made closer to a desired Taylor pattern 22, a beam width of a major beam is made narrow to the utmost, a side lobe level is reduced simultaneously and an undesired wave such as clutter and a disturbing wave is eliminated by realizing a multi-purpose antenna pattern. Thus, the minimum power method with a binding condition for a phased array is improved by introducing the fuzzy linear programming method so as to obtain the excited amplitude and phase numerically.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
