PURPOSE: To expand a focal distance range at a photographing time using an area near an optical axis as for a camera which can selects the photographing using the area near the optical axis of a lens and the photographing using the area including also the priphery of the lens. ;CONSTITUTION: The size of a photographic screen is regulated by one of a first screen frame 21 where the longest distance to the priphery from the center of the optical axis is small and a second screen frame 1a where the longest distance is large. Besides, it is decided by screen frame decision means SW1 and SW2 which screen frame of the first screen frame 21 or the second screen frame 1a is set. Then, the photographing lenses 5 and 7 are controlled to be driven by regarding the shortest focal distance of the lenses 5 and 7 as a first value when it is decided that the first screen frame 21 is set and regarding it as a second value being on a long focus side from the first value when it is decided that the second screen frame 1a is set.
