PURPOSE:To simplify a switching work by constituting the system so that a network configuration managing device executes an origination to the backup device concerned, and transmits a switching instruction, when a switching instruction is received. CONSTITUTION:A maintenance person inputs fault information informed from a host computer 1 to a network configuration managing device. The network configuration managing device 9 refers to a table related to the configuration of a data communication network stored in a storage device of the inside, and displays a screen such information as a location and a telephone number, etc., of the ISDN backup device concerned 8 to a screen. The maintenance person confirms the display screen, and inputs a switching instruction to the network configuration managing device 9. When the called ISDN backup device 8 is responded, the network configuration managing device 9 transmits a switching instruction for setting the instruction of a fact of designating to an incoming side and a telephone number of the ISDN backup device 8 which becomes an outgoing side, and disconnects an ISDN pay station line 10.
