PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To print plural pictures on printing paper and to save the printing paper by making a picture input device transfer picture format data generated by selecting input pictures and a layout between the pictures to a picture output device and making a picture output device output the picture transferred in accordance with the transferred layout. SOLUTION: In a picture input device, a CPU 101 controls the whole and displays a picture inputted from a CCD or the like of a picture input part 105 and a picture and a layout which are selected by the operation of an operation part 104, on a picture display part 106. The selected picture and layout are transferred to a picture output device by an UART 109 through a modulation part 110, a demodulation part 111 and infrared transmission/reception parts 112 and 113. The picture output device similarly outputs the picture received and transferred by the URAT to a printing part by the control of the CPU through the infrared transmission/reception parts and the modulation/demodulation parts in accordance with the layout. Thus, the plural pictures can be printed in accordance with the layout selected from among the plural layouts.
