SLAG COATING METHOD ONTO INNER WALL IN CONVERTER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure the stuck thickness of slag onto a furnace wall in a converter in a short time. ;SOLUTION: This slag coating method is executed by staying the slag in the furnace after completing the tapping of molten steel in a top and bottom combined blown converter for executing refining while blowing oxygen gas from a bottom part and a upper part of the converter and blowing inert gas to execute coating on the furnace wall by blowing up the slag. In such a case, a top-blown lance 1 from the upper part of the converter is positioned to the lower part to blow the inert gas and also, the inert gas is blown from a bottom- blown nozzle 3 to cool the slag, and after improving the viscosity of the slag, the top-blown lance 1 is ascended and the wall surface in the furnace is cooled to improve the sticking of the slag onto the furnace wall.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
