PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an automatic gain control circuit and a receiver having this circuit for reducing a circuit scale by making common an automatic gain control loop, and for preventing the increase of the mounting area of a circuit board or the increase of the current consumption of the circuit. SOLUTION: An automatic gain control circuit having plural receiving systems is provided with only one receiving system for operating level detection. As for feedback data for controlling the gains of the variable gain amplifiers 11a and 11b, the variation of the temperature characteristics of variable gain amplifiers 11a and 11b of each receiving system is corrected by using a thermister 31 so that a part of an automatic gain control loop can be made common without providing automatic gain control loops for the number of the receiving systems.
