A traffic element has a body having a transparent plastic component (25) which comprises illuminating mechanism encapsulated by the plastic of the component. The transparent plastic component is fabricated from a multicomponent plastic in a closed mold by casting. Independent claims are also included for: (A) a transparent plastic component which comprises illumination mechanism encapsulated by the plastic of the component and is fabricated by casting a multicomponent plastic in a closed mold; and (B) a wing rib designed for use in a transparent plastic component.
