Novel peptides inhibiting the migration of vascular endothelial cells whichare useful as remedies for diseases in association with abnormal angiogenesis,for example, solid tumor, inflammatory diseases such as arthritis and ocularagiogenic diseases such as diabetic retinitis. Peptides having an activity ofinhibiting the migration of vascular endothelial cells represented by thefollowing general formula (I) or pharmacologically acceptable salts thereof:R1-A-R2 wherein R1 represents hydrogen, optionally substituted alkanoyl,optionally substituted aroyl, optionally substituted heteroarylcarbonyl,optionally substituted alkoxycarbonyl, optionally substituted aryloxycarbonylor optionally substituted heteroaryloxycarbonyl; R2 represents hydroxy,optionally substituted alkoxy or optionally substituted amino; and Arepresents a partial amino acid sequence of the amino acid sequencesrepresented by SEQ ID NOS: 1 to 3 wherein or more amino acid residues may besubstituted, deleted or added.
