PEPTIDES INHIBITING VASCULAR ENDOTHELIAL CELL MIGRATION

Novel peptides inhibiting the migration of vascular endothelial cells which are useful as remedies for diseases in association with abnormal angiogenesis, for example, solid tumor, inflammatory diseases such as arthritis and ocular agiogenic diseases such as diabetic retinitis. Peptides having an activity of inhibiting the migration of vascular endothelial cells represented by the following general formula (I) or pharmacologically acceptable salts thereof: R1-A-R2 wherein R1 represents hydrogen, optionally substituted alkanoyl, optionally substituted aroyl, optionally substituted heteroarylcarbonyl, optionally substituted alkoxycarbonyl, optionally substituted aryloxycarbonyl or optionally substituted heteroaryloxycarbonyl; R2 represents hydroxy, optionally substituted alkoxy or optionally substituted amino; and A represents a partial amino acid sequence of the amino acid sequences represented by SEQ ID NOS: 1 to 3 wherein or more amino acid residues may be substituted, deleted or added.
