Process for cooling a gripper drive and loom with coolable gripper drive

A process is for cooling a rapier drive of a loom. The drive is surrounded by a housing (8), which can be supplied with or emptied of, from outside and under pressure, a heat-removing medium (air), which swirls round the drive. The housing (8) of an associated loom is connected to a pressure line (10). A slit-like opening (9) forming a flow passage, is incorporated between the support device (1) surrounded by the housing wall (8a) and the bearing plate (3) carrying guide rolls (4,5,6).
