The catheter comprises an injection pipe (11) which is mechanically roughened within the joint zone (15) at the guide plug (13). The latter consists of polyurethane foam, and is directly foamed onto the roughened surface (16) within the joint zone. An Independent claim is also included for a method of producing the catheter, involving mechanical roughening of an end section of the injection pipe, introducing it into a mold and foaming a guide plug onto its roughened surface.
