LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE AND METHOD OF FORMING THE SAME

PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display device is provided to realize high aperture rate and to improve screen quality by maintaining a gap of a liquid crystal cell constantly. CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal display device comprises an upper plate which consists of an upper substrate(50) and a transparent electrode(52) coated on the upper substrate(50). A lower plate consists of a lower substrate(54), a pixel electrode(72), and a color filter(68). A pillared spacer(74) is formed between the lower and upper plates, and a liquid crystal(76) is inserted in a space provided by the lower and upper plates and the spacer(74). Also formed on the color filter(68) is an organic film(70) having low dielectric as a passivation film. A pixel electrode(72) is formed on the organic film(70), and is connected with a drain electrode(66) of a thin film transistor(80) through a contact hole which is formed extending the color filter(68) and the organic film(70).
