The connecting pipe(1) has at least one flow passage restriction(3) created by a groove located behind the gas outlets(2) when viewed in the main flow direction(H) of the compressed gas. There is a restriction for each group of gas outlets which number preferably between four and eleven in each group. The restriction reduces the flow passage by preferably 25-30%. The restrictions located further to the rear when viewed in the main flow direction lead to more reduction of the flow passage than those located further forward. An Independent claim is included for an airbag system which incorporates the proposed connecting pipe.
