The headlamp has a mask (100), and mask operating means, which is designed to pivot the mask around a horizontal axis (X), two edges of the mask (111,112) define two beam cut-off profiles. Stops (200, 13) define two stable positions for the mask. The mask is L shaped, and the stops include a generally L shaped part (200) whose two branches (210,220) are designed to press against a stop (13). The mask (100) and the part (200) overlap each other so that the two respective branches (110,120; 210,220) of the mask and the part (200) form a right angled pair.
