PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inspect a sealed character of an inspecting object without a registration work when the inspecting object is changed, etc. SOLUTION: A sealed character inspecting method is constituted by providing steps 4, 7, 8, 9 to detect plural pieces of character data from image data of a first surface to be inspected, steps 10 to 13 to set reference character data from the plural detected pieces of image data based on a setting condition and steps 14, 15 to judge whether the character on a second surface to be inspected is normal or not based on image data of the second surface to be inspected and the reference character data.
