PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for constructing a foundation for a tower-like heavy object on an existing caisson whereby the foundation for mounting thereon a heavy object such as a tower can be firmly constructed on the upper construction of the existing caisson without removal of the upper construction, reducing the cost of constructing the foundation, and a foundation structure therefor.;SOLUTION: The legs 5 of the foundation for the tower-like heavy object are installed on the upper surface of the upper construction 8 located in a position above the bulkheads 9 or sidewalls of the existing caisson and are fixed to the upper construction 8, whereby the foundation for the tower-like heavy object is constructed on the existing caisson.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
