PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detecting method in which an internal water-leak passage in a structure can be grasped surely and to provide a mending method in which a water leak is prevented completely by using the detecting method. ;SOLUTION: A discrimination gas G having a temperature difference from a structure K is force-fitted into an internal water-leak passage R from a water-leak opening part D. A temperature difference which is generated on the surface of the structure K is detected by a temperature detecting means 1. The leak position of the discrimination gas G is searched by using a gas detecting device 2. A passage region A in the internal water-leak passage R in the structure K and the waster-leak opening part D are decided. Then, a fluid force-fitting filler 3 which has a temperature difference from the structure K is force-fitted into the internal water-leak passage R from the water-leak opening part D. The temperature difference on the surface of the structure K is detected by a temperature detecting means 1. The passage region A in the internal water-leak passage R is compared with the creeping region B of the fluid force-fitting filler 3 into the passage region A. The creeping range of the fluid force-fitting filler 3 is confirmed. The fluid force-fitting filler 3 is force-fitted until the passage region A in the internal water-leak passage R agrees with the creeping region B of the fluid force-fitting filler 3.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
