PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for recovering titanium oxide contained in plastic such as a prepaid card without using any special equipment.;SOLUTION: Titanium oxide is recovered by heating the titanium oxide- containing plastic under an oxygen-containing atmosphere at 800-10,000°C to bwn organic components contained in the titanium oxide-containing plastic and to turn the titanium oxide component to anatase type and reutilizing the combustion residue containing the resultant anatase type titanium oxide as a manufacturing raw material of titanium oxide by the sulfuric acid process.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
