PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily update an advertisement at appropriate time as needed by making a public telephone set download, update and store advertisement information. ;SOLUTION: This advertisement method using the public telephone set is for connecting a relay server through a communication network, downloading the advertisement information from the relay server and generating the advertisement. Waiting time is counted, and when an operation mode is sensed while checking whether or not the counted time exceeds prescribed reference time, prescribed guidance information is displayed at a display device and change to the operation mode is performed. When the operation mode is sensed during an advertisement mode for displaying already stored prescribed advertisement information when the operation mode is not sensed until it exceeds the reference time, the advertisement mode is canceled, the guidance information for the operation mode is displayed at the display device and the change to a telephone mode is performed.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
