PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an instrument for measuring displacement of a movable member with high accuracy at a low cost.;SOLUTION: The instrument for measuring the displacement of the movable member is equipped with at least two sensors 36, 38, having movable parts 42 and stationary parts 40, a movable member 48 and a stationary member 50. The movement of the movable parts 42 is proportional to the displacement of the movable member 48, with respect to the stationary member 50 and the moving direction 60 of the movable parts 42 with respect to the stationary parts 40 is reversed at least once in the moving range of the movable member 48, and the sensors 36, 38 generate output signals 64, 66 which show the position of the movable member 48 with respect to the stationary member 50.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
