EMBEDDING METHOD AND EXTRACTING METHOD FOR INFORMATION USING DIGITAL WATERMARK

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently prevent the processing time on a detection side for watermark information from becoming long while making a plurality of digital watermark systems coexist. SOLUTION: A contents providing device 1 embeds actual information in contents by using an arbitrary actual watermark system and meta-information specifying actual watermark system used to embed the actual information by using a standard meta-watermark system predetermined with a contents verifying device 2. The contents verifying device 2 extracts the meta-information from the contents and extracts the actual information by using the actual watermark system specified with the meta-information.
