MANDIBULAR POSITIONER FOR GOTHIC ARCH TRACER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a mandibular positioner for Gothic arch tracer which is contrived to simultaneously realize both movability and fixability of the fine adjustability of the position of a holding hole and the reliable maintenance of the set position of the hole on the surface of a sensor for setting a two-dimensional mandibular position with accuracy of 0.1 mm which is the effective resolution of a digitizer based on the contents displayed on a personal computer connected to a Gothic arch tracer using the digitizer as an inputting device.;SOLUTION: A digitizer plate made of a ferromagnetic material has already been developed aiming at a withdrawable attaching/detaching function by using a magnet clip. This mandibular positioner can magnetically attach a device holding a set mandibular position to the ferromagnetic digitizer plate by means of a permanent magnet at a position outside the sensor without bringing anything into contact with the surface of the sensor.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
