PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove char powder adherent to a metal surface in a carbonization residue produced in a carbonization furnace.;SOLUTION: A mixer 9 for kneading metal pieces 4 after char 5 in the carbonization residue 2 produced in the carbonization furnace 1 is roughly segregated and a sieve 10 for finely segregating materials kneaded by the mixer 9 are provided. The metal pieces 4 are made to collide with each other in the mixer 9, and the char powder 5a adherent to the metal pieces 4 is dropped off by grinding effects. The mixture of the metal pieces 4 and the char 5a is segregated precisely into the metal pieces 4 and the char 5a by the screen 10.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
