PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove even dust present within carpets. ;SOLUTION: This electrostatic type cleaner 3 comprises: a dust intake port 52 through which dust 2 on a floor face 1 is taken in; a dust trapping part 51 in which the dust 2 from the dust intake port 52 is contained; a rotating brush 4 installed at the dust intake port 52 for scraping up the dust 2 on the floor face 1 and introducing it into the dust trapping part 51; a discharge anode 5 and a discharge cathode 6 oppositely disposed on the dust intake port 52 side of the dust trapping part 51 for ionizing the dust 2 taken in through the dust intake port 52; an attracting anode 7 and an attracting cathode 8 disposed at the dust trapping part 51 for electrically attracting the dust 2 ionized; and a high voltage generating circuit 9 for applying high voltages to the discharge anode 5, discharge cathode 6, attracting anode 7 and attracting cathode 8.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
