PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily mount a joint metal fitting from the outside of a steel column without subjecting the steel column to any special machining, when the mating end of a steel beam is joined to the junction of the steel column having a closed or open cross section. ;SOLUTION: When a steel beam B is joined to a steel column A having a closed cross section such as a box column, or a steel column A having an open cross section, such as H-steel, a locking projection 6 is formed at the end of a bolt part 2 at one end. A joint hard ware 1 having at the other end a flat plate part 3 through which a bolt hole 5 is formed is used, and the locking projection 6 is inserted from outside the steel column into a locking hole 7 formed in a side plate (a) at the junction of the steel column and is rotated to lock the locking projection 6 into the side plate (a), with a nut 4 tightened to secure the bolt part 2 to the side plate (a); the flat plate part 3 is laid on a beam flange and tightened thereto by a bolt and nut, and the side plate of the steel column and a beam web are connected together by a gusset plate 8, etc.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
