PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To individually discriminate the type of a vehicle during the travel of the vehicle and to judge the propriety of entrance into the parking lot facility of a mechanical movement type. ;SOLUTION: A vehicle discrimination device 11 detects the length, the whole height, the shaft distance and the minimum ground height of a front overhang and the length and the whole length of a rear overhung by a width direction detection means and area sensors 31 and 41 during the travel of the vehicle 1. It surely discriminates that the vehicle can be transferred among a lift, a carriage and a storage case before a driver gets off from the vehicle 1 in an entrance position even if the vehicle is any type and the vehicle 1 is altered without stopping the vehicle.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
