PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To immediately generate a warning sound when a clip attached to a book is removed and to effectively prevent reading standing in a bookstore of a book by constituting of the clip for holding a cross section of the book and a detection switch provided at the clip to generate a warning sound from the book by the clip.;SOLUTION: The implement for preventing reading standing in a bookstore of a book comprises a clip 12 for and a detection switch 14 provided at the clip 12 to generate a warning sound when the clip 12 is removed from the book 10. The clip 12 is not particularly limited. In this embodiment, a pair of holding pieces 12a for holding the book 10 at its end and retaining pieces 12b for retaining the piece 12a by a hand at its rear portion are opposed, clamped by a shaft 16, and the pieces 12b are elastically urged by a spring 18.
