PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flame retardant for polyolefin resin, which imparts excellent flame retardancy in a small amount and does not generate any halogen gas when burned by compounding a phosphazene mixture made of a cyclic phosphazene and a linear phosphazene, and a metal hydroxide.;SOLUTION: The flame-retarded polyolefin resin composition having an oxygen index of 27 or over is obtained by compounding, as a flame retardant, a phosphazene derivative mixture (A) composed of a cyclic phosphazene (A1) of formula I (wherein Y represents an alkoxy group, an aryloxy group or an amino group; and m is 3 to 8) and a linear phosphazene (A2) of formula II (wherein Y has the same meaning as defined in formula I; and n is 1 to 7), and a metal hydroxide (B) of formula III (wherein M represents a metal of groups IIA and IIB of the periodic table or a metal of groups IIIA and IIIB; and z is 2 or 3) in a polyolefin resin. The compounding ratio is preferably such that the flame retardant composed of 1 to 40 wt.% of the component (A) and 99 to 60 wt.% of the component (B) is present in an amount of 10 to 60 wt.% based on the total in weight of the resin and the flame retardant.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
