An upper limb prosthetic device, particularly for imitating an elbow joint motion, comprising an artifical hand, a first, forearm sleeve (102), a second, upper arm sleeve (103) for a stump of amputated arm to be accommodated therein, and a 1422 כ" ג בתמוז התש" ס - July 26, 2000 control means for operating the prosthetic device, the control means comprising a means responsive to changes of biolectrical signals from the stump, the said second sleeve being therein provided with a driving mechanism operated by said control means, the driving mechanism having a housing filled by a working medium of a high ohmic resistance and at least one pump assembly, linkage means being provided and connected to said driving mechanism and said first forearm sleeve.
