A transparent substrate with conductive multilayer antireflection coating, whether it is made of glass or other transparent material, has high transmittance while maintaining required conductivity and resistance in the surface layer. The transparent substrate with conductive multilayer antireflection coating has a laminated structure of transparent thin-film dielectric and transparent thin-film conductor on a transparent substrate, which includes a first thin-film layer of transparent dielectric substance having a refractive index greater than the transparent substrate, a second thin-film layer of transparent dielectric substance having a refractive index smaller than the transparent substrate, and a third and outermost thin-film layer of transparent conductor. The reflection due to optical interference is suppressed, resulting in high transmittance.
