PURPOSE: The subject disinfectant composition by using oxolinic acid or its salt and thiabendazole or its salt each alone or mixture thereof and cultivating method for bean sprouts using the same are provided which have low toxicity and excellent storage stability and can effectively control fungus and bacteria at the same time without adversely affecting the natural environment. CONSTITUTION: The disinfectant composition for bean seeds used for sprouting beans comprises oxolinic acid or its salt and thiabendazole or its salt in a ratio of 1 : 1 to 1 : 2, wherein the salt is selected from potassium salt, sodium salt, ammonium salt and isopropylamine salt. The method for cultivating bean sprouts comprises dipping sprouting beans in a diluent 1,000 times with the disinfectant for 2 hr, removing the disinfectant solution and soaking in water for 1 to 5 hr. The composition can manifest high controlling effects on bean seed infectious disease injuries, especially disease injuries caused by fungus and bacteria.
