PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for reducing waste food and processing it to feed are provided which not only reduce amount of waste food substantially but also supplies high quality stock feed by removing and sterilizing salt and moisture contained in the waste food and removing stench generated during treatment of the waste food. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus for reducing waste food and processing it to feed comprises a collection tank (1) in which a crusher (9) crushing waste food with crushing rollers is installed; a first sorter (10) sorting foreign substances including vinyl bag in the crushed waste food; a second sorter (16) in which magnetic rollers removing metallic foreign substances are installed; a fine crusher (25) finely crushing the waste food into pieces with a plurality of crushing cutters; a third sorter (29) sorting and separating again the foreign substances including small vinyl pieces; a salinity dehydrator dehydrating salinity contained in the waste food and moisture from which the foreign substances are sorted; a transfer conveyor (32a) transferring the dehydrated waste food; a quantitative discharger (39) quantitatively discharging the transferred waste food; an ozone sterilizer (38) sterilizing various germs inhabited in the waste food; a filtrate sewage disposal tank (41) collecting and disposing the filtrate, and a filtrate storage vessel (42) storing the non collected and disposed filtrate; and deodorizer (40) deodorizing stench which is difficult to decompose discharged from the collection tank (1), the fine crusher (25) and the salinity dehydrator (32).
