The explosive charge removal process is applicable to types of munitions in which a jacket encases an explosive charge, with a cone-shaped depression. The charge (36) is directed so that the open surface of the cone (26) is directed towards one end of the jacket (12), so that the force of the explosion is diverted into this direction. The charge is removed by the insertion of a hollow stamped tool through the end of the jacket and into the explosive material and then removing the material enclosed in the tool.
