The electric switch has a switch housing provided with stationary switch contacts (12) and a switch operating element, e.g. a switch wiper or joystick, provided with at least one switch piece, associated with the operating path of a pivoted contact device (1) with a plastics body (2) and at least one projecting contact spring (3). The latter has an intermediate section (10) of reduced width between its base and its end section (11) which cooperates with at least one stationary switch contact.
