The ridge cover (10) has a double-walled construction with connecting strips (16,18) fitted to inside of ridge cover so that they lie at a distance from the inner surface of same forming a ventilation channel to a vent hole (30) near the vertex of the ridge cover. The vent hole enables the exchange of air between the roof space and the underside of the ridge cover. The vent hole can have a cover (32) made of air-permeable microporous material and the connecting strips are made of watertight material.
