Purification of (meth)acrylic acid by fractional crystallisation of a liquid mixture is such that (a) the lowest crystallisation stage (S1) is effected dynamically; and (b) the mother liquor from stage (S1) contains =20 (especially =45) wt.% impurities other than water.
