PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wide area IP packet communication system with which the load to prepare an IP packet transfer table is removed from an IP packet transfer device and a wide area IP packet transfer device and these devices can be concentrated in the transfer of IP packets. ;SOLUTION: A radio base station 2 reports the read IP address of radio terminal equipment 1 through a radio link to a configuration managing device 5, the configuration managing device 5 specifies the position information of the radio terminal equipment 1 based on the IP address inputted from the radio base station 2 and an interface number, prepares a local IP packet transfer table 17 and a wide area IP packet transfer table 18 based on this information and sends these tables through a cable link to an IP packet transfer device 3 and a wide area IP packet transfer device and these devices receive these tables from the configuration managing device 5 through the cable link and transfer IP packets while using these tables.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
