PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and system for calculating the required amounts of materials capable of procuring the materials of reproduced articles by taking property of the materials into consideration.;SOLUTION: Production plan data being a reference are read from a storage device, and a target period of calculation is set from the production plan data, and item information in which the items of the materials to be procured are described, constitution information in which the parentage information of the items is described, and classification information in which the classification of the items into new articles and reproduced articles is described according to the production plan is read from the storage device. Then, a component chart for calculating the required amounts of the materials in the set target period of calculation from the read item information, constitution information, and specification information is prepared and the inventory information for each item of the materials to be procured is set, and utilization of the plural materials for components is calculated by using the inventory information, and the calculated results of the materials utilization are collected respectively for the same item of the materials.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
