PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a boarding and alighting guidance method and system for notifying passengers of boarding and alighting guidance from a center device and guiding them so as to smoothly board and alight from a vehicle without mistakes by monitoring their movements through the use of portable communication terminals in their possession.;SOLUTION: When the center device 11 receives boarding and alighting schedule information including the name of a destination, the name of a platform location, and departure and arrival schedule time inputted to a cellular phone 1 from the cellular phone 1 in the case that a passenger takes a bus; a database is searched, and the passenger is notified of boarding and alighting guidance information including the name of a bus stop and the name of the bus by the cellular phone 1.
