PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a food having quality and taste same as or more than these at the time of preparation in the region remote from the site where the food is provided.;SOLUTION: This apparatus 10 or installation, for thawing the frozen food is constituted so that the frozen food may be subjected to a thawing treatment while controlling the conditions so as to provide the taste and quality improved from that just after the production, i.e., the so-called matured taste or quality, and has a fed amount-forecasting means 13 capable of forecasting the amount to be fed at the future prescribed time, and a means 14 for calculating the time for starting the thawing of the food, requiring a prescribed time for the thawing, based on various kinds of information inputted to the thawing apparatus 10 or installation.
