The device for support of at least a part of the human body comprises a mattress or other cushion-type component made of a first material and one or more specific parts incorporating a second material of different properties. The second material is softer than the first and can involve a gel, fluid lipids, latex/rubber. Where a baby mattress is involved, it comprises a rectangular part of soft material (3) for support of the whole body. At the place where the baby rests its head is a round part (2) specially suitable for support of the head. This part can comprise a gel or fluid lipids.
