PURPOSE: An AC Surface discharge type plasma display panel, driving method for AC Surface discharge type plasma display panel, plasma display device and method for producing AC Surface discharge type plasma display panel are provided to reduce cost by eliminating the necessity of arranging a driver circuit for each address electrode, while obtaining a high definition display. CONSTITUTION: An AC Surface discharge type plasma display panel comprises a first substrate(51Rd) is disposed on address auxiliary electrodes(47T,47B) formed on a surface(9S) of a rear glass substrate(9) all over the adjacent lane regions(ARLm-2,ARLm-1) and identical regions(ARLm,ARLm plus 1), and on a surface(15S) of an insulation layer(15) all over the adjacent lane regions(ARLm minus 1,ARLm) and identical regions(ARLm plus 1,ARLm plus 2); and a common address electrode(46) where a voltage for image data is applied. In the PDP having the first substrate, a light discharge occurs only in the discharge cell where the common address electrode and address auxiliary electrodes belong. A voltage is applied to each of the common address electrode and the address auxiliary electrodes, during the former half(or later half) of address period.
