PURPOSE: A system and a method for realizing video on demand(VOD) using a dynamic channel assigning type server and buffering of a set-top box provide services rapidly and conveniently using a dynamic channel assigning type VOD server using a user channel supervisory system and a buffering technique of a set top box(STB) of a user side. CONSTITUTION: A system for realizing video on demand(VOD) using a dynamic channel assigning type server and buffering of a set-top box(STB) includes a storing device(1), an output device(2) like a monitor or a television(TV), a personal computer(PC) or an STB(3), an input device(4) like a keyboard or a remote controller, and a server side(5) for providing data.
