The present invention provides an easy manufacturing process of a dynamic pressure thrust bearing device having a high pressure generating groove with excellent wear resistance. In the manufacturing method of the thrust bearing device of the present invention, the groove 2 for dynamic pressure generation is formed on the surface 1a of the thrust plate 1. The dynamic pressure generating groove 2 is such that the width of the groove portion 12 and the width of the non-groove portion 13 in the arrangement direction (arrow A direction) of the adjacent dynamic pressure generating groove 2 are approximately 1: 1. It is formed by pressing in a pattern.
