FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves indicating virus reproduction in tissue culture at 37 C and testing alpha-interferon synthesis in human leukocytes. Rct markers are additionally used at 28 C and 40 C. Reproductive activity is determined with alpha- and gamma-interferon being detected in donor blood next to it. The found enterovirus strain pathogenicity degree is determined from predominant virus accumulation at 40 C with respect to that at 28 C and 8-16-fold increase in alpha-interferon synthesis in comparison to gamma- interferon. EFFECT: high specificity of the method.
